Riverside Park Holds First AGM

The RPPA reached an important milestone when they held their first official AGM on 14 October 2009 at the Emnotweni Sun. The new Board of Directors was appointed as voted for by members. Mr James Aling from HL Hall & Sons will once again chair the Association during the next financial year and the Vice Chairman position will be filled by Robert Ferreira from AutoTec. Other directors appointed were Jan Prinsloo, Jeannine Ferreira, Avhatakali Mamatsharaga, Colin Potgieter, Ignatius Olivier, Charmaine von Abo, Cindy Meyer and Jo Koster. Download Press Release

Riverside Mall Hosting Children's Art Festival Prize Giving Ceremony

Riverside Mall is hosting the Childrens' Art Festival prize giving ceremony on Saturday 25 July 2009 at 10:00 at Riverside Mall's food court. The aim of the event is to give recognition to the artistic talent of children in the Lowveld and to eventually host it annually and have it grow from strength to strength. Schools were invited early this year to submit their pupils' artwork with the theme "How Do You See Riverside Mall." View Press Release

2009 Bio Diversity Day

The Lowveld National Botanical Gardens (LNBG): through its Bio Diversity Education and Empowerment Centre will be hosting a Career Expo during the celebration of the International Bio Diversity Day. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about biological bio diversity, review the status of bio diversity in our areas and also to encourage learners to pursue careers that are environmentally and scientifically inclined. Dr Khumalo, the Provincial Head of Environmental Education Section from the Department of Education in Mpumalanga, will be outlining the benefits for schools participating in environmental awareness campaigns and programmes as these will encourage the learners to pursue careers in that field and thus the drive for conservation of the environment will be advanced. Celebration of Arbor Week

The Lowveld National Botanical Gardens (LNBG): Will be donating 20 trees to the Mbombela ANC Youth League in the spirit of celebrating Arbor week and of promoting the conservation of trees. Trees are of significant importance to the sustenance of both human and animal life. Although trees have sustained human life, mankind must take responsibility for the fact that some trees are on the threatened list and/or are facing the possibility of becoming extinct.
