Jungle Fever Water Park Festival

It's a common and valid complaint that there is a serious lack of children's activities and entertainment in the Lowveld. Riverside Mall launched the Jungle Club, a kids' loyalty programme at the beginning of November in an effort to offer quality children's entertainment and rewards for local children.

On 11 December the Jungle Fever Water Festival kicked off and was operational every day from 10am to 4pm until 24 December 2009. Members of the Jungle Club had free, unlimited access to the water park for the entire duration. The water park was manned by trained childcare professionals who entertained the kids with face painting, balloon art and stilt walking. The park itself featured 5 giant water slides, a foam pit, a sand pit, a volley ball court, 5 swimming pools of various sizes and a "chill area" for parents to relax and unwind in. The chill area had been created by two existing Riverside Mall tenants, Alexander’s and Wimpy.

We hosted a daily ice-cream eating competition, sponsored by Wimpy, and Rivo the Lion, the Mall’s mascot, made daily appearances at 1pm. Entrance 3 at the Mall was truly the only place to chill out and get wet in the Lowveld’s sultry December season.
